SUMMARY:
In spiritual warfare, the helmet represents salvation – a divine gift of deliverance from sin and its consequences, and the assurance of eternal life with God.

Technical Specifications: Salvation is the redemption of humanity by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It is the process of being saved from the dire consequences of human sinfulness, chiefly separation from God and eternal damnation. This salvation assures the believer of an eternal relationship with God, inaugurated in the present life and culminating in eternal life.

Usage:
The helmet’s placement is symbolically significant. In a physical sense, a helmet is designed to protect the head, where our consciousness resides. In the context of the spiritual armor, the helmet safeguards the mind – the seat of thoughts, consciousness, cognitive abilities, and perception.

This protection is crucial because the mind is often the primary battlefield in spiritual warfare. The forces of darkness often wage war by injecting doubts, spreading lies, encouraging sinful thoughts, and promoting a worldview contrary to God’s truth. Without adequate protection, such assaults can lead to spiritual confusion, loss of faith, or departure from godly living.

The helmet of salvation, however, provides robust defense against such attacks. It protects the believer in several ways:

CAPABILITIES:

Hope of Salvation – Salvation instills hope in the believer, a forward-looking optimism based on the assurance of eternal life with God. This hope can provide strength and resilience in times of trials and tribulation.

INSTALLATION:

Salvation initiates this transformation process, enabling believers to resist conforming to worldly patterns and discern God’s will. It safeguards our thoughts from the onslaught of negative and harmful influences that can deter our spiritual growth.

Vision System

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! – Mt 6°22^23

Exposure Control/Optical Gate

Do not love anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world – the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does – comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1Jn 2°15^17

I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl. – Jb 31°1
